به گزارش پایگاه خبری تریبون ملی،روته در گفت وگو با شبکه اسکاینیوز و در پاسخ به پرسشی درباره احتمال کاهش تعهد آمریکا به ناتو گفت که واشنگتن کاملاً به این پیمان متعهد است، زیرا عضویت در آن منافع مستقیم و گستردهای برای ایالات متحده دارد.
وی برای تشریح اهمیت ناتو برای آمریکا به تجاوز نظامی علیه ایران اشاره کرد و افزود: «به ایران نگاه کنید. چهار تا پنج هزار سورتی پرواز از پایگاههای اروپایی در چارچوب عملیات خشم حماسی انجام شد. آمریکا بدون اروپا به عنوان یک سکوی بزرگ قدرتافکنی قادر به انجام این عملیات نبود.»
دبیرکل ناتو مدعی شد که این پیمان به آمریکا امکان میدهد اهداف را در عمق مورد حمله قرار دهد، گلوگاههای اصلی جهان را کنترل کند، از ظرفیت صنعتی کشورهای اروپایی بهره ببرد و با استقرار گسترده نظامی، تحرک زیردریاییهای هستهای روسیه را زیر نظر داشته باشد.
روته اضافه کرد که حضور آمریکا در ناتو تنها با هدف حفاظت از اروپا صورت نگرفته است و این پیمان در خدمت منافع امنیتی و نظامی واشنگتن قرار دارد.
مجری اسکاینیوز در ادامه به اظهارات دونالد ترامپ رئیسجمهور آمریکا اشاره کرد که مدعی شده بود ناتو در جریان عملیات علیه ایران در کنار واشنگتن قرار نداشت و این پیمان را «ببر کاغذی» خوانده بود.
روته در پاسخ گفت که هفته گذشته در کاخ سفید درباره این موضوع با ترامپ گفت وگو کرده است و ادعاهای مطرحشده را به مواردی محدود و استثنایی نسبت داد.
وی بار دیگر اعتراف کرد که هزاران پرواز از پایگاههای مستقر در انگلیس، فرانسه و سایر کشورهای اروپایی انجام شد و این کشورها توافقهای دوجانبه خود با آمریکا درباره استفاده از پایگاهها و امکانات نظامی را به اجرا گذاشتند.
دبیرکل ناتو پیش تر نیز در جریان یک مصاحبه در اظهاراتی اعتراف کرده بود که اعضای سازمان پیمان آتلانتیک شمالی (ناتو) پایگاههای خود را برای تجاوز علیه ایران در اختیار ایالات متحده قرار دادهاند.
این اظهارات در حالی مطرح میشود که کشورهای اروپایی ادعا کردهاند که در تجاوزگری آمریکا علیه ایران نقشی نداشتهاند.
اسماعیل بقایی سخنگوی وزارت امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی ایران پیشتر گفته بود: اذعان صریح دبیر کل ناتو به همکاری با آمریکا و رژیم صهیونیستی در انجام حمله تجاوزکارانه علیه ایران، اعتراف به همدستی فعالانه این سازمان در ارتکاب تجاوز نظامی علیه یک کشور مستقل عضو سازمان ملل متحد است؛ تجاوزی که نقض فاحش قواعد آمره حقوق بینالملل و اصول بنیادین منشور سازمان ملل بوده است.
وی افزود: ناتو و تکتک دولتهای عضو آن که در این تصمیمسازی مشارکت داشتند، باید بابت همه پیامدهای این جنگ تجاوزکارانه پاسخگو باشند.
